Resident Evil Deluxe Origins Bundle

Original Survival Horror Remade

I've been enjoying the original collection from GOG so had to get the Remake and Zero as well. Played before on ps4 but always great to have another way to play on pc. I will say these game have a problem scaling to Fullscreen as I had to turn that setting off in my graphic settings or the games will not boot. If you are also having a this problem go into your graphic card driver software and turn off 'GPU scaling' and your good to go.

Amnesia: The Bunker

Atmospheric Horror

Just finished this game on PS5 and it did not disappoint, and wanted to be able to play on pc. The setting is perfect for a horror setting with the technology of the first world war not being the most reliable and really loud like your pocket torch that keeps the game tense. When is the fuel going to run out in the generator? Have I got somewhere to hide if I set a trap off? How am I going to get through this door, loud with a grenade or brick, or find the key? This game keeps you on your toes without out staying it's welcome unlike Alien: Isolation. With this and Conscript, they make a perfect pair of games that truly show the real horror of WW1 setting.

Silent Hill 4: The Room

Buyers Beware on Windows11

I brought this game a few months ago as I've been wanting to play Silent Hill series. I'd got SH4 on PS2 but I wanted to be able to play at a better resolution than the original hardware could. I tested this game like every game on PC when I first get them, to see if it works until the first save and it did. Now I want to play this game the FMV's play with a red and green filter and the sound keeps clipping and popping. Looking through the GOG forums this is an issue on the newer Windows 11 updates with no fix apart from going back on the system updates. I didn't pay much for this, but I'm disappointed as I was really looking forward to getting my teeth into this game. I'm posting this review to warn other customers and i want to make it very clear, I do not blame GOG for this. This is the second game where the Windows 11 updated and it effected the FMV playback, the other was RE2 but there is a way of getting that game to work. Added 3/11/2025: since the Windows update the FMV's are now playing without the odd colours but the sound is still playing with popping and clicking so It's getting better.

Resident Evil Bundle

Returning Classics

It's great to have a way to buy these games that is easy and at a good price. I am going to be honest, I've never played these before but have played the remakes and newer games in the series and all I can say is I love these classics. It's interesting to play the original versions after the remakes and sort of knowing where the story was going but different. I can understand why some people may be disappointed as this is not a remaster. So the FMV's, visuals and sound are not improved, but missing music has been put back into the game. For example although the FMV's in RE1 are at 10fps they are not censored compared to the versions on the PSN. The only issue I had was the FMV's were playing in RE2 without the visuals only sound, but thanks to the GOG Forums I was able to get them work.

Resident Evil 2

Great game, FMV's are not playing

I brought this in the bundle a few months ago and saved them to play over October. I checked that they worked when I first got them and got to the first save in each game and they were fine. Now I want to play them the FMV's in the this game do not play, don't show the picture of the capcom logo, video before the main menu, intro cutscene, but you can hear the audio. Please fix this as I've had to get the games on PSNetwork just to get the full experience. P.S. I have been able to get the FMV's working thanks to the forums, but when these games are sold they should work out of the box.

CONSCRIPT

Classic Survival Horror

I have played this game before on PS5 when it first came out and loved it, just wanted to be able to play on pc as well. The atomoshere, sound design, music and the gameplay really pull you in like a classic survival horror of the likes of the original Resident Evils. With a merchant mechanic like Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 where you can upgrade weapons and purchase supplies, along with the save mechanic being a comsumable item if you want. You don't want to miss this if you have missed the old days or just getting started on your survival horror journey.

Mafia Classic

Mafia is a classic

I remember playing Mafia when it came out on PS2 when I young and really enjoying the gritty story and fantastic world building. However at the time I wasn't very good at the combat as it is not very forgiving. Replaying this now and after really enjoying the remake and the rest of the series it is great to finally play this classic and see the difference between the game and being able to play on keyboard and mouse is great and finding it more a challenge but rewarding.

Mars: War Logs

Unable to play.

I brought it as I have played this before on PS3 and it was on sale. I booted it once to see if it was playable and it was fine but couldn't get the controller input to work so backed out of it. Once I sorted the problem went back into the game the language had changed to Spainish and could fine a way to change it so got a refund.

The Evil Within

Classic Horror...with a few problems

I loved this game on PS4 but the framerate is not very good and on PS5 at least it is locked at 30fps so is now playable on that console. I bought this from GOG to hopefully make the game work better which it does, locked 60fps apart from a graphical glitch where the shadows flicker in and out when the camera is moving round which make this really hard to play. Shame as I was looking forward to trying this game again

Mad Max

Good game, bad version

This is a really good game, fun vehicle combat and hard hitting hand to hand combat as well. Detailed world that changes from bright day sunlight to moody moonlit night time. However this game on pc may not work for other players. When I try to play with a dual monitor setup, the game will not boot to the main menu. I have to use my 1080p monitor only when booting the game then once I'm in the main menu have to back out of the game change my computer output to only my 4K TV so I can enjoy this game on the big screen. I'm lucky that I've got a way to play this game, but other players may not be and I think they should be warned before hand.
