I had seen gampelays of Rimworld before purchasing it. The first times I played the game, I lost everything due to not knowing well what to do. I stopped playing since everytime I died for hunger or raiders. One day, I thought of watching a video to understand the early game mechanics and I saw that I was doing everything wrong. Since then, I have been playing almost everyday (a few hours since university takes almost all my time) and it has been awesome! To begin with, it's really simple to understand but hard to master. There are a lot of things that you have to keep in mind when you have your colony. Every single system is kinda complex enough but easy to understand. For starters, I didn't know that there is soil quality, I just planted stuff anywhere. Or the importance of researching to get much better stuff to be prepared for everything that could come in the future. Like I said, lots of stuff to keep in mind. Despite this, I really like the complexity and difficulty of the game, it makes every achivement something to feel happy about (and the stories that can be created are awesome!). I get that it might not be a game for everyone, since there is so much to learn and sometimes it could be easier to look stuff online, but if you like to try for a game that can create awesome stories and like the challenge that ir comes with, I fully recommend RimWorld.
