The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Set the new bar for future games

An awesome open-world game that expanded on the first two Witcher games. Friendly to newcomers who don't need to have played the previous two games. I was a fan of the tanky movement of Geralt in the vanilla release. With the updated version Geralt moves quicker which was lauded as an improvement, but it doesn't feel right to me. The game has a lot of story, sidestory and other side content that entertained me for a whole summer. Witcher 1 is still my favorite of the three, though they are all great and kept awesome consistency and had insane improvements. Projekt RED was synonymous with trailblazers. Now I don't look forward to Witcher 4 after the trailer reveal much because, before it when there was news about a new Witcher 4 in the works, many had the impression that it was going to be a new story about another witcher from another witcher school, not Ciri, so seeing Ciri was kind of a let-down to be honest. A new female witcher would have been fine too, I don't care if it was male or female or a custom character. Either way these days I find the violence and sexual things in this and other games to be very graphic. If you're not a fan of that either, I'd recommend not getting this game this generation and sparing yourself.

Tender Loving Care

Underrated, also incredibly good film.

This is the most human thing I have played or watched. If you're expecting bad '90s/'80s writing or acting you'll be in for a surprise. I wouldn't let the rating on this game here influence you either. If you're into heady games, then this one is for you. Man, this genre needs a come back. P.S. If you also like Silent Hill you will appreciate it, as it would seem that the team at Konami had some inspiration from this or from the older novel this is based on (haven't read it yet). Game needs more exposure.

Larva Mortus

Top-Down Horror Monster Shooter

Fun game. If you like Van Helsing and/or horror movies, or shooting unholy abominations, great game to pass the time. You choose your missions, then travel through a Castlevania-like or Darkest Dungeon-esque top-down map and exterminate, or collect things. I played it a ton as a teen, good times. Thanks GOG!

SoniComi

SONICO

Thank you GOG. Thank you Nitroplus. Sonico is a phenomenon if you're into Anime figures, she took the scene by storm some time ago. She was originally from a game called Axanael that still hasn't been fully translated from Japanese. If you want to enrich your experience, I recommend seeing the Sonico Anime first before playing or getting the game, so you may be in an Otaku mental state of worship as you're blessed with this intimate 3D game. The game is in a Visual Novel format, it's mostly text-based with sound, music and Sonico's voice actress, but while often in VNs you get text choices that diverge the story, for this game they implemented that in the second portion of the game which is photo shoots, you choose what she wears and take pictures of Sonico for projects, and depending on how you play that part of the game you'll get different endings. The writing and atmosphere is also very nice. If you are into Japanese Otaku culture or ecchi Anime, there is not much to be said, I would highly recommend getting this game.

Saya no Uta ~ The Song of Saya Director's Cut

I love this Visual Novel.

Nitroplus are kings. Awesome game, incredible story and writing, incredible soundtrack, I have played through it a couple of times back in the day when VNs were not too known about. I love you GOG. I won't spoil the story for you, and it's better if you don't know what it's about. If you like visual novels or anime, and you like unusual things, I'd recommend checking it out, the low price is worth it. If you're not familiar with Visual Novels: it's as the name implies, a text-based game with some visuals, sound and usually voiced, and most of the time you have a couple of story-diverging choices in them you can make for, from the point of view of a novel, an alternative version of an ending or two. It's also very much in the Anime culture of Japan, you might not like it if you're unfamiliar with that.
