Remothered: Tormented Fathers

Hard pass.

[Copy of my Steam review; contains minor spoilers] First and foremost, this game features a terrible, terrible twist showing the creator's utter lack of any knowledge about psychology. Dissociative personality disorder is an unproven myth and an extremely lazy plot device. Putting something like that in a game in 2018 is incredibly inept. The creators also seem to be full of themselves by calling this game a "cult classic" on their sequel's website. Who else has ever called this a "cult" game or a "classic"? The mixed reviews here [Steam] show way better what the majority thinks about this game: It's a flawed, somewhat amateurish first effort. The bad outweighs the good and in the end makes playing this a forgettable experience. And if you actually play till the end, you will be rewarded with some of the most cringeworthy dialogue to ever "grace" a horror title. Give this a pass, you won't miss out.

Have to second...

... the other two reviews that are posted as the time of this writing. The price is outrageous.

Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition

A true classic

If you haven't lived behind a rock lying on the dark side of the moon for the better half of the last 14 years, you no doubt heard of the Duke at least once or even played it once or twice (or more). With the eventual release of Duke Nukem Forever in 2011 (who thought this would ever happen!?) especially younger gamers get a chance to catch up to the hype. Cashing in at a measly three bucks, you get four episodes full of alien blasting carnage. Deadly lizards, fat pumpgun-wearing pigs, scary Octabrains (still the best enemy ever designed for a game) and lots more of original enemies await your welcoming with weapons ranging from the convential pumpgun or rocket launcher to more exotic ones like the freezer, shrinker or expander. The cabable Build engine delivers plenty of impressively beautiful scenery to the screen, which you can even enjoy from the top of this virtual world, should you be able to obtain the jetpack. More highlights include spying at your enemies by monitors, throwing pipe bombs through teleporters and exploding them on the other side of town, trapping foes with mines, lots of destroyable scenery including whole buildings and much much more. See Duke's world by exploring the greatly varying settings: Urban slums, space stations, alien hives, deep mountains and more. Book your personal trip now! (4/5 due to me liking Blood and Shadow Warrior better, YMMV)

Chaser

For Windows XP only

IMPORTANT TECHNICAL INFO: Contrary to what the info section says, this game won't run on any Windows OS following XP. Vista and 7 users are locked out. GAME REVIEW: No doubt Chaser has been a very ambitious project as it's an FPS of epic proportions. Lots of levels to blast through and a story that at least tries to keep up with the game's length. Regretfully the game is unable to deliver all that it promises in the beginning. Gameplay is repetitive, level design dull, the story has some twists, but ultimately is boring and uninspired. You never feel any connection to the character you're playing. The last two levels have to be the most boring ever designed for a shooter. It was there that I finally lost all hope (Yes, I had been patient till the bitter end). But the most flawed thing is the ending itself. I can't imagine anyone having suffered through endless of look-a-like hallways, streets and space-stations not being disappointed by the final cutscene. To sum it all up: Chaser had a lot of potential, but most of it went to waste. The story, as already said, is promising in the beginning, the graphics are quite good, the sound is alright, but this is such a severely flawed game that I just can't recommend it. Only for shooter fanatics who need to have played them all.
