Where Unreal was a landmark, original, beautiful FPS, Unreal 2 was none of these things. It looked generic, it played generic, and the story was bland.

I want to review this game objectively, and give people the facts, outline the flaws, and discuss the peaks. But it did something to me when I played it. It affected me. It drew me in in a way games haven't done since Baldur's Gate 2. The mature nature of the story, and the astonishing (best ever) graphics, and the perfect voice acting... ...This is what gaming was meant to be about: Rich, deep, mature stories told interactively. It is fun, it is intelligent, and above all else, this is the first time in 30 years of gaming that I can feel games have finally surpassed films and books, combining the best of both. Thank you CD Projekt Red.
