Baldur's Gate 3

Not perfect, but great

While the game still has its rough spots, including some very annoying bugs (e.g. characters falling through moving platforms, Necromancy of Thay disappearing), it's also certainly one of the best games to have come out in recent years. The gameplay is refreshingly different from the usual and - for those who like a strategic approach - a lot of fun. Dialogue and characters are, save for very few exceptions, grounded and authentic. The options to react are varied and meaningful, although I will say that some paths are clearly more fleshed out than others. The third act especially would benefit from more polishing in that regard. Nevertheless the vast majority of players will be satisfied with the existing possibilities. Something that isn't mentioned enough in my opinion: The UI/UX design is exceptionally good. Most elements can be customized, some of them being pretty rare like different modes for colour blind people or a system that allows you to choose the amount of quick- and autosaves you'd like to keep before overriding. Graphic options come with pictures showcasing the differences, others are explained so well that even people without previous gaming experience should understand them; same goes for skill descriptions and tutorials. That, combined with a fully customizable difficulty setting, makes the game very approachable. Overall I recommend everyone to at least give this game a try. Chances are you will find it enjoyable!
