I am playing all 3 games in a row. AB3 is more of the same... and that´s a good thing. Alien shooting, dim lit corridors, comic-book styled interludes, and all other elements that made the other two games enjoyable. Admittedly, these are simple games, and they all look pretty much the same with no significant innovation in mechanics or inventory besides a couple more weapons. But the atmosphere is great and the encounters are planned in such a way that will keep you on your toes. The developers also managed to surprise the gamer with new combinations of previous mechanics, like water+electricity, placing explosives, or using ramps and changing/fixing camera angles. On the narrative side, I liked the story of MIA more but here it's all mostly about the other foe, however it's not a bad story either. I wished that when the antagonist speaks aloud his lines would be typed on the interface because it is a bit hard to hear him. Also, I prefer shorter maps and more of them, but AB:3 is more like the opposite: long maps but fewer of them; nothing too extreme though. Regardless, pretty enjoyable a game for when you are short on time or feeling lazy about getting the hang of the mechanics of some bigger game again. Especially tailored for Alien/Starship Troopers fans. Update: One complaint only; The final boss is too hard! I am playing with keyboard, and basically procrastinating because turning so many corners over and over hurts, and it's just too tight on time. May get around it one day... or either watch the ending on YouTube ;)
