Insane has a place in my heart alongside Stunts and Gran Turismo (1) as one of The Great Car Games. There is quite nothing like it. Awesome physics combined with total freedom to go anywhere you want, fun game modes in both single and multiplayer... But most importantly driving feels very good and fun! Don't be fooled to think usual arcade physics since it's not quite a simulator; every vehicle has mass and behave very life-likely. Driving through uneven landscape feels realistic, and you have to think about your vehicle's center of gravity to keep it balanced on the rough surface. Add to that the game's dynamic damage modelling and you're into some serious fun! Vehicles can be twisted and battered beyond recognition, falling from high cliffs or just smashing each other, even landing a jump improperly does something to them. Single player is fun, but multiplayer is what Insane was made for. LAN games are insanely fun, and there are still some people playing it online with Gamespy. Recommended to anyone looking for a fun driving game!
