I played through the game on an emulator instead of this, as this port crashes on startup with no way to fix it, be it driver wipes and updates or rollbacks. I can't recommend emulating this game however. Honestly it was such a frustrating experience, I played on hard and on that difficulty the game is just mean and not in a fun way. Things such as spawning 4 invisble enemies ontop of you, scripting making your carefulness and use of items IRRELEVANT in some places, Snake's issues with shooting enemies off screen and even ones on screen on a higher plane than you (Comm Towers are almost impossible if you dont have enough Stuns), but my main gameplay issue is the bosses. The only Bosses I remembered enjoying myself in were Ocelot and Raven, as Raven requires you to use unconventional weapons to deal damage and Ocelot is almost a game of cat and mouse, timing his reloads to let you get a couple shots on him. Psycho Mantis has lost its lustre because of how awkward it is to shoot a teleporting boss in this game, but he wasn't awful. The three main bosses I had frustrations with were Cyborg Ninja, which wasn't actually as bad as I was told he'd be (basically a melee only fight its just a really tedious fight of "wait for him to miss an attack and punch him 3 times" for 5 minutes), Sniper Wolf (very tedious fight of wait for her to peak and shoot her with the worst gun controls ever, and a sway mechanic that only exists to remind you that you forgot to pop the drug that stops it) and Metal Gear Rex (I was softlocked out of the ending because I didn't have enough chaff grenades, last save was hours prior and only had half my max rations and couldn't tank the nearly impossible to dodge missiles). The story however? Its INCREDIBLE. Like seriously the story was the sole thing keeping me thoing through the game, and had I not been softlocked from the final boss I would say was worth pushing through the shoddy gameplay. Overall, I can't really recommend this game though.
