No mods available outside of the Steam Workshop. Game works fine as is but lacks variety that the mods provide. Had I known in advance I would have bought it on steam. Otherwise, great game. Lots of experimenting to understand how things work, no help or tempates to guide you. Help is somewhat usfull but templates would be better. I recommend crating a save before you build anything, so you can go back and try again after you mess up.
