Only Lead Can Stop Them

A Fun Wolfen-like Fash-Smasher!

As a fan of other 'boomer shooters' like 'Wizordum' and 'Cultic', this pixelated fash-smasher is especially appealing to me! I played the demo, enjoyed the art style, music, and level design, and decided I needed to go ahead and pick it up. Currently playing through now and I am not disappointed! If you like old-school Wolfenstein-like shooters (with options to make the sprites nice and crispy) definitely give this a try!

STASIS: BONE TOTEM

Excellent Sci-Fi Horror

Played through Stasis and Cayne. Loved both. This is a more than worthy successor. Film-Grade writing, delivered with skill and drama by fantastic voice actors. Moses was especially effective in tugging at the heart strings. But Faran and his fate are also equal parts creepy, existential and memorable. Expertly-crafted backgrounds / art. The PDA-Logs and their semi-animated employee portraits stick out in my mind. Honestly I would be happy just to play something like this as an interactive movie without the puzzles. This will stick with me.

Silent Hill 4: The Room

Not perfect, but still great

It doesn't hold up to the original Silent Hill trilogy, mainly due to the fact that the game initially wasn't planned to be a Silent Hill title. Still, it's a good example of Japanese psychological horror. The inexplicable holes in the walls are reminiscent of Junji Ito. The claustrophobic first person segments in the apartment are creepy, as are the accompanying "window peering" segments in which Henry spies on his neighbors. And although the combat can be frustrating, the visuals can be truly phantasmagorical. So glad to finally have a PC version DRM free.

AMID EVIL

Amid the Greats

Gonna have to wait until I have a little extra $$ but I already own AE on Steam and I gotta say: It's worth it. It's worth the asking price, even without a discount. It's like Quake meets Hexen! I mean what more do I need to say than that? Interesting worlds, nice hub, plenty of weapons and enemy types. Great stuff!
