Mechanicus is X-Com in 40k, except it's better for a few reasons : - The lore of a Adeptus Mechanicus expedition exploring a awakening Necron Tomb World is awesome - The gameplay and the difficulty are highly customisabled - The low randomness of the game remove the most frustrating part of XCom with those high chances miss.. An excellent W40k game which happens to also be a really nice one, even without it licence.
That game could have been fun, but it aged like milk. At least in the first levels, the level design is really boring. StangleHold also have a mostly bad game feeling when played with a mouse and keyboard. Still, i suppose you could enjoy yourself if you're really out of fps to play.
The game was'nt ready for release, far too many game breaking bugs. The dev teams try to patch it quickly, but each update add new problems... And that for steams users who actually get update in time. The gog version get patch a little bit late to my taste. The actual game seems fun but a bit shalow. Maybe it will be a nice game in a few month, when it is actually finished.
The base game is quite fun, but suffer from major problems : -It's really short -The final boss is awful and far too long in "mouse" difficulty -Maniability is'nt that good, and is unecessary hard to learn (press space to jump or too stop in the air if you're already airborn.. one key for two contradictory things...
