I am Sad in a Good Way

The games is a very user-friendly resource-gathering sim with some allusions to dark, mysterious horror elements that take a while to get into, but introduces them at a reasonable pace conducive to world building and good story telling. You are a mysterious marine fisherman found washed up in a myusterious town and given a boat with which to make a living after you repay the load for what the boat is worth. You meet mysterious people along the way and discover mysterious destinations while mysteriously mytering myteries and mysteriously fishing for mysterious fish... and stuff. And mystery, or something! It is a cute game with an addictive hook and a logical difficulty curve. It is a prime example of gameplay and design over graphics. What makes me sad is that overfishing doesn't have any meaningful impact and, therefore, this is yet another game that could have incorporated some very interesting real-world mechannics to expand on the gameplay. Instead, it rewards "pillage, plunder, exhaust" gameplay. However, it is easy for me to say this as an aquatic ecologist. :D
