Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition

Medieval RPG masterpiece

I had the game in library for multiple years and never went past the prologue. Not necessarily because I disliked my first hour into it, but truth be told, I wasn't hooked that much. Here we are, in 2025, with a lot of hype around the second opus release. Which led me to give it a second chance, and guess what? I fall in love with this game. Not everything is perfect, quite the opposite, but after all is said and done, it's definitely worth a shot. You start as a peasant, and the game has a lot of simulation-like aspects. So you're going to suffer, and that's part of the story. But as the story goes-on, you're going to become more and more of the knight you wish to be. But even as a knight, does it makes sens being able to take down 5 ennemies at once? Definitely not, or only by a ton of luck. Don't expect anything different in the game. You will have to adapt to the universe, take these elements into consideration before deciding what you're going to do. But the feeling of accomplishment when things are going as intended is rewarding in a way so few games can achieve. Special note about the combat system > one of the best and most polished experience I ever had, complex and rewarding. That being said, the game tries to be realistic, so it is by no means easy, it's often messy and rarely ends up in your favor. Keep on practising, don't rush while being outnumbered, aim for the head and victory will be yours. The game is still buggy to this date, with a lot of textures issues and unintended collisions. World is more than realistic, dialogues are sometimes very fun and mature, story is correct enough to get you involved. A must try and one of my all time favorite. What a pleasure seeing devs get off the beaten track!
