Port could be better. PS1 jank is my only major complaint, so if you're beyond that then it's a pretty decent time. Holds up as a good stealth game with some middling yet cool boss fights. Very happy to finally understand where the series took off (not counting the original METAL GEAR), and I'm more eager than ever to play through MGS2.
