TL;DR AMAZING game with one of the best side quests I've ever seen in a video game. Visuals are fantastic BUT it's riddled with bugs and glitches. Pros. + Night City + First Person animations + Gunplay + Main story + SIDE QUESTS!!!! + It looks AMAZING on PC + Variety of guns/cars/motorcycles/cloths etc. + Skill trees and build variety Cons. - AI of NPCs during exploration. (combat AI is good) - Stealth is just "ok" - Bugs! Sooo many bugs - Missing QoL features In short. IMO it's a must have. I've brought it day 1 because I'm a fan of Cyberpunk in general but if you're not then I'd suggest waiting a month or two till patches drop. Then it's must have for every RPG fan.
Pros; -WRITING! (It's been a LONG time since I've played the game with such a good writing. And most importantly it's like reading one of Terry Pratchetts books + curse words and more adult themes. It's just fantastic writing that also doesn't drag like in some other games [Tides of Numenera - I'm looking at you!] -It's ok to fail. (Unlike so many RPGs it's ok to loose stat check in Disco Elysium. Sometimes outcomes of those failures are even more exiting than success.) -Character customization. Each stat changes the way your character interacts with the world. Not only dialogues are different but some quests might play differently based on your stats. -Artstyle and graphics (so isometric camera is IMO the best way to play cRPGs. It gives them timeless look, like illustrations from the book. DE uses that and give it it's own spin by having oil painting inspired look to all textures. It looks great and it's filled with details!) - Quests. Cons: -Game doesn't explain some mechanics too well. (Hard games are fun, but there is difference between fair hard and hard due to the lack of explanation how somethings work. DE is not hard game but some mechanics will require trial and error in order to figure out what are they doing.) -Journal. It's well written but some more clarity would be nice. Immersion is great but D:OS games failed at that too. Clarity > immersion in this case would be nice. -Min/maxing is a way to go. Jack of all trades char. are a no, no. TL;DR AMAZING game! In spirit of Planescape: Torment, DE is much more focused and heavy on the story than some epic scale RPGs. It's a "story first" kinda game with amazing artstyle, FANTASTIC writing and overall atmosphere. IMO - Must buy and easly one of the best RPGs of the year.
