'Spec Ops: The Line' is perhaps one of the most important games ever made. It is an extremely bold work where every design element is focused on immersing the player within it's key message; rather than simple entertainment. The one-note multiplayer, poor optimisation for PC, and the often frustrating difficulty coupled with a conservative checkpoint system are certainly present, but not the point. As such; it's very difficult to recommend or even review the game without spoiling what happens: the same way you can't discuss 'System Shock 2' without bringing up the 'twist' on deck 4. Indeed; even mentioning there's a twist has given away that there's a twist. All I will say therefore is if you're the tiniest bit curious then don't read anything else into the game and just play it.
