Wasteland 2 Director's Cut Digital Classic Edition

Shocked - Not for most people

I'm not sure how to really respond to this game. I am no super fan of Fallout 1 & 2, but I think they are good games. This game comes off worse than the Fallout, and I wasn't able to get any where at all with this game. I would not advise purchase unless you know for *dead sure* that you like it. The game is visually *very* archaic (or nostalgic, but with an emphasis on that clunkiness). Did the developers intentionally used that tiny default arial font for the UI and text? What was the animation when I click start new game about - does it do anything but to take 3 extra seconds for that simple task? Why does the UI look stunningly like a 2006 flash game with the big straight boxes and awkward blank space? Why does the character cards looks like the creation of a middle-school rpg gamer trying MS paint? Why are the character protraits so... idk artistically inconsistent to each other? I was rather frustrated over the character creation. How is "American" an ethnicity and how come Russian is not "European" while the "Arabic" seems to point to "Middle Eastern" altogether? What are those 6 substances (I assume) for smoker? What does "indigenous" religion even mean? That to-scale "size" of character? A small person is just a proportionally 1:1 become smaller/bigger when i change the "size"? Age is only a number, customize characters all look like 20-30ish. The game assumes (maybe not wrongly) that players just knows these retro-rpg games. There is little explanation of things, and I quit after being thrown off by the conversation. Thrilled to see the type-to-converse speech bar, disappointed to know that it only means I have to guess the "speech options." Heck I can't even go crazy and say the f-word to my superior at the start, he just does not respond to anything at all. **Why** is there a speech bar when I am effectively playing on a very limited set of speech options? Maybe I am asking too much, tho I now see why this game was a free giveaway by GOG.
