This series has always provided a series of interesting tactical problems coupled with a unique supply mechanic combined with an accurate portrayal of the battles themselves (with the exception of the alternate history scenarios). This DLC follows through with this and some. At first I thought the D-Day landings being one big scenario would not capture the nuance of the Normandy Campaign but as my forces consolidated and got off the beaches - the game's mechanic protrayed the dilemma of the Allies trying to consolidate the gains from the landings and contesting space while also pushing back the Germans. I also really appreciated the fact that when my Anglo-Canadian force reached Caen and took it (much earlier than it actually fell to the Allies) - the next scenario reflected this gain. I also liked the Falaise Gap scenario - which really showed how important Allied airpower was in ensuring that the retreat out of the pocket was contained. So far, I am at the Market Garden phase of the campaign but am really looking forward to the push to the Rhine and the Scheldt. Tiny little gripe I have had with this is the tendency of the enemy AI to suicidally charge your front with extremely damaged units for no gain. Additionally, should you breach through a line and clear it, some random little unit (anti air or recon armour) will often just run around your entire force and cut off the entire advance. This could be remedied by a mechanic to limit the range of forces when pocketed. Overall loads of fun - and if you're new to this type of gameplay - highly recommend!!
