I believe that the magic system is way better than in HoMM 3. You don't learn them and pump your magic power to smack. Songs of conquest weaves magic greatly into the strategy of a fight and army composition. But some spells types could need some rebalance/improvement. Not sure how to explain everything what I think but in total. I like HoMM3 and the Horn of the Abyss mod but this game has well though basic mechanics which open great potential for this game to thrive from! However the AI is challenging, but you can see how unorganized (running back and forth on the spot) the enemy moves on the map which makes me actually win parties. Otherwise I would loose :D Please revisit the menu flow during gaming. For example having a window open does not allow me to open another. First I have to close the current one. And also the flow of moving units inside the city menu is ok but could be better with less clicks. Also the Mac Universal build is broken, after loading the splashes the screen stays black. The Intel build runs just fine but I would appreciate a well working Mac Universal build a lot. I will review the game after release till then it is a 4/5 already! Keep going guys!
I like stories, characters and a potential for a great immersion but it fails hard to the deliver the last! promised but failed - stupid AI - stupid NPC's - missing content Quality - missing audio and text during conversations. just template oder nothing at all - strange pauses during conversations - driving physic. like at some places you cannot drive and going backwards just stutters or exploding cars or collision stuff - in the far cars are spawing like crazy and dissapearing right after - stuck cars on the highways - making turrets friendly makes them stupid. they are no help - loading a save game. you are suddenly not able to throw granedes - menu is NOT intuitive - not able to change keyboard keybindings. defaults suck - broken keypress recognition - spawning police behind me and killing me! Stupid! even in NCPD missions they are targeting me for helping solving the crime - sneaking is partly broken. some sounds like dropping a body behind a thick wall and door triggers the gang members Trust - you as a company lost my trust. I bought an 2800€ PC for enjoying holiday in this messy year with CP. I rather have waited some more years! - as a software dev myself I do know that devs guaranteed said this is not finished we need better management, other proccess and so on. management often fucks up this part! we already read that on the internet and other companies so many times. - not threating devs and artists well - some stupid metacritic boni and crunch-time to release a "beta" game just because managements says so. - then you managed to lie that the console performance is "well". feeling bad for these customers - then you managed to lie again that in january/feb it will be a better experiance. Thats not rational. your coworkers need a break. and the pile of todos is not going to be magically disapear in that short time. Performace my pc 5600x with nvm, 32gb and 3090 and the fps are still dropping from ~50-55 to 30-37 on ANY res!
But only 4 stars? Yep, there are some bugs left. in battles and some animation issues. And way to mutch collecting ressources. always holding the right mouse button costs a lot of time that was very annoying. There were moments where I was like "oh boi, another big map". Some more battles could be reduced from default 2-round to 1-round battles. That would help to keep me enganged on the red track of the game! :) Dont get me wrong, the sizes of the maps are right, but not the slow collecting stuff and amout of 2 rounded battles. Great Story, Great Characters, Great Writing. Great Illustrations. I would love to play another witcher game in this format or as TW3 :D
