Simple, yet surprisingly fun game. It is more fun if you play it with friends however, playing it alone gets dull rather quickly in my opinion. The world consists of a set of maps that you can travel to, which are randomly generated. But it doesn't take too long until you realize, there just isn't that much to do in the game. The goal is to essentially conquer all the maps and get better ships. The maps get progressively harder, sometimes requiring you to grind a new ship or you'll get wrecked in the next map. One thing that certainly annoyed me, is the AI. When I am capturing a city on the other end of the map, allies will just decide to come to me, even though they will never make it in time and I don't need them, completely ignoring that one pirate capturing one of our cities. Most of the time the allies are just completely unhelpful. I keep capturing cities, the pirates capture them back once I leave, the allies barely ever try to defend. Once you have conquered a map (all cities are captured) the only thing left to do on this map is trading and questing. The quests are, as far as I can tell, also randomly generated. But they are mostly the same (deliver some cargo, destroy a pirate, build a guard tower, ferry some passengers to another city, and so on). And that's it, there is not much else to do in the game. It reminds me a bit of Elite: Dangerous in that regard. Really solid foundation, just far too repetitive, sadly.

Having a lot of fun with it. It is nice to see that your build is not defined by a skilltree, but rather through destiny cards, outfits and weapons that can be changed at any time. There are also no classes. The story is a bit lackluster, I would've liked more depth, and perhaps choices. As it is the story is completely linear and only told through short dialogues.
