Lamplight City

Good, with limitations

The pluses are many. Great art Interesting dialog Complex relationships A flawed main character. Excellent stories as per each case and an overall story. Some of the voice acting. However, there are some minuses. As mentioned by others you can easily get locked out if you pick the wrong dialog choice. There should be an autosave or some other device that allows you to quickly return to the point where you "goofed up". Some of the voice acting is mediocre including, unfortunately, the main character. There are very few puzzles or action sequences. Overall a good adventure game that could have been better.

Panzer General 3D Assault

Great Game But Tech Problems

I remember playing this on my old PC 10 years ago. I found it extremely enjoyable - everything from the emphasis on leaders, the interesting scenarios and the 3d graphics. So I decided to purchase it again but, unfortunately, the game does not run well on my relatively new PC. I get mouse lag (I don't have a gaming system but the specs are pretty good) and I find the 3d graphics are not sharp on my 23 inch monitor. GOG was nice enough to give me store credit for the game, which I will use to buy PG2 - another great Panzer General game which I owned eons ago.

Shardlight

A very enjoyable game

I own almost all the games Wadjet Eye has produced and this is probably my second favorite (the Blackwell series has to be number one). The story is very good, especially if you like the post apocalyptic setting (which I do). I liked that the main character, Amy, does not have everything going her way and, in fact, is suffering from a serious disease. Amy is voiced by a very fine voice actress - the best in the game. I'm not a great fan of difficult puzzles, especially if they don't seem to fit into the story, but that wasn't the case here - the puzzles are not terribly hard and are well integrated. The highlight of the game, however, is Ben Chandler's art. Every screen is a treat. I love the ever-present green shards that liven up the somewhat depressing landscapes and give the game world a unifying element. I enjoyed Shardlight very much and I'm looking forward to the next release by the Wadjet Eye team.
