I waited a very, very long time for this one to come on a big enough sale. It was well worth the wait. This game knows its audience, as well as its genre. Without altering any of the settings, you can experience an incredibly difficult, confusing, and frightening game or, if you're like me and love spoilers, you can go on a gleeful rampage from the get-go. This game, unlike certain other Survival Horror staples I could name, doesn't get in the way of a good time regardless. My complaints are few, and I suspect they stem mostly from the challenges of independent development. The enemies get a bit repetitive, I don't find 'That One Enemy' all that intmimdating, and I've found an odd rhythm to the combat, which I suspect was not an intentional one. I also find the character modles a little too unrealistic to fit in with their hyper-realistic surroundings, but that's just down to taste. I'm gushing, but then again I got this on sale for $0.99 down from $20, so it would have had to try to irritate me. Still, I've already recommended it to one horror-loving buddy.
