Saints Row 3 is a fantastic open-world sandbox game and I seriously recommend playing it, especially now that it is available with no DRM and at such an awesome price point. I will say though, as other reviewers have pointed out, the storyline is unfortunately not as strong as it was in Saints Row 2, however I think you have to just enjoy it for what it is - it's quite silly and stupid at times but that's part of the games' charm - it doesn't try to be serious in the same way that Grand Theft Auto does, but that's okay - Saints Row 3 is more focused on just creating fun gameplay above all else.

Easily one of my favourite strategy games. I find it amazing that this game has held up so well, with so little competition. I think the closest thing to it would be Prison Architect, but nothing else yet has managed to emulate this style, this fantastic gameplay and brilliant humour that Theme Hospital has. If you get it, I'd definitely recommend also grabbing CorsixTH off Github - it's essentially a rewrite of Theme Hospital which allows it to use higher resolutions and allows it to run natively on Windows, OS X and Linux.
