very bad designed game with lots of softlocks and a very boring progression after a time.. unity engine.. meh.. did i mention the flow is very broken ? expect to be locked away.
does not even start in 2024.. just crashed to desktop after the 2-3 seconds loading something like a chart..
Nothing really improved over the first ST game.. same bad design decisions and more waste of time. Same graphics, same sounds, same regurgitated content.
So.. the graphics and over the top tactics seem cool in the first levels but then everything becomes extremely hard and quite frustrating. This is a game made especially to waste your time with waiting and waiting and waiting and then some quick actions. Shame the nice japanese action is weirded out with some english voice acting that do not fit. All in all this game is unnecessary hard and quite repetitive along the story line. Meh..
So, the GOG version is 1.1.744 and the Steam version is.. 1.2.749 ! Shame..
Hey guys.. so the game is kindof good but.. not so often updated on GOG. This is the second time they delay the updates after Steam..
So i decided to support the developers on GOG (after owning the game on Steam) and bought it last night here too. Started the game in its glorious pixel art and awesome music and manage to get almost everyone killed until we met Gail, an old cool woman that knew how to fix cars and deal with bandits and have a awesome instinct about everyone met. We accepted the no melee and only guns challange almost to the end of the adventure and had to kite around for half an hour last three sieges in lack of.. ammo.. In the end only old woman Gail made it to Canada and married the prime minister of Canada while cute penguins were watching all around. That was the first game session on GOG and Gail made it. Gail was the best. Perhaps she still is somewhere in Canada..
So the Steam guys were right: this is kindof a mess.. I run a 12700K and a RTX3080 and the avg fps is like 85 with so much stuttering.. Use to stay in 144 fps without problems wih everything maxed out on the original version but now.. really needs MORE optimizations. So don't bother upgrading unless you are prepared to wait for maybe future updates. The graphics are nice(r) though.. very sharp and detailed textures.
First hour of the game starts really nice and cool and immersive and funny and then it begins with stupid platforming and dumb boring puzzles.. Seriously guys..
Unfortunately this game has too much RNG in it to be enjoyable.. very nice atmosphere but the game loop is too tight to leave any mistake to be made. You kindof learn as you go but stil.. the difficulty is abnormally tough.
