Overall, the first two missions would be a 4/5 for me, but the missions after all have issues that are killing me. The SloMo is very fun to use at first, but almost every encounter is stale and plays out the same for me. The enemy variety is lacking, with 90% of the roster you fight being grunt units doing the same thing again and again. My biggest problem with the game, for me, has to be the maps. Very unintuitive, with no clear progression or objective. I've probably spent 1/4 of my playtime walking around, trying to figure out where to go. So far, the first two missions were worth it, as I got the game at a good sale price, but finishing this game is a chore to me.
The graphics, settings, and some features are very dated and show their age, but the core gameplay is so strong, I wish I had more. Story was great and made me care for all my ships and their pilots and crew. Music was also great and the missions, save a few, were all fun. The final mission was a blast. Overall, despite how old it is and looks, this scratched the itch that the Homeworld Remastered collection gave me, and then some.
