Wanderlust: Travel Stories

Wanderlust. A video game? Seriously?

For the first time in my life I bought a game on the day of its release. Now how do I restrain myself from lacing this page with profanities because of this decision? I would like to get a refund based on the fact that calling this piece of software a video game is at best debatable. But what I would really like is for GoG management to put out a video playing this "game" from start to finish, so their costumers (us) can see in their faces how much they enjoy playing it. After all, an honest retailer should stand by the products they sell, shouldn't they? The game begins and you need to start reading some bland text, more text and then more text. After a few pages of more text you begin "playing" by choosing what story to take on. After you immerse yourself in one of these stories written by what appears to be some high schooler who didn't fail their language class, the gameplay continues. This is done by clicking one of two or three or four next buttons (bear in mind which button you choose is a life changing decision). More reading more reading more reading, more next buttons, more reading and more next buttons... All this overlaid on some picturesque? backgrounds shot on DSLRs by real world travelers! No joke. More text reading more life changing decisions next buttons more reading... and as they make you aware in the game description, here is where you need to start checking your stress levels, as you read and read and ask yourself what is going on here? I would suggest you step away from the computer at this point and go for a walk as you would start questioning your purchasing habits, where did you go wrong, your place in the world and life decisions in general. With a clearer mind and after visiting a psychiatrist you may decide for yourself wheatear this game is for you. Hey, your wanderlust may be so strong now that you may give up gaming. But for real GOG you CANNOT sell this as a video game. Make it clear it is not.
