This is simply amazing. I used to play this on my PC. I am on a mac now (mac mini m4), using Crossover for games. The GOG H3 Complete Edition didn't work on Crossover. This one does. Everything works just great. As for the mod itself, for those who are not familiar with HotA, this is an incredible mod. HD included, 2 new castles (not a fan of those, but they worth a try), new artifacts, a ton of quality of life improvements. 6*. Five are not enough.
It just takes a lot of good things from HOMM and King's Bounty. I really enjoy this. Gave it 4* because I'm not a fan of pixelated Arcade-like graphics. This should've been a skin for those who really want this. With a hi-res graphics this game would've been a 6* one. I'm not saying people don't enjoy this type of graphics; it's just a personal taste.
I'm not playing on console. And this IS a console game. This should NOT be sold as a PC game. You will simply not be able to move around with your keyboard and mouse. Everything is so clumsy. Probably with a console controller everything is different. I can say. It probably is a good game, but I have no idea because I simply couldn't play it. Gave it a nostalgic 2* for the marvels that were the previous versions.
My favorite title of the series. The first one I played almost 30 years ago. And I'm still playing it. Of course, it's not as balanced as later installments (Warlock is way too powerful, H2 Ghosts shouldn't be in the game), but the feeling you get while playing it is priceless. I will probably play this for another 30 years (if I'll still be around :)) ).
