Lil' Guardsman

Fun and enjoyable game

First time playing this style of game but I enjoyed it. It does have various humor, and some wacky personalities ont he characters, which is fine as I have played all Ace Attorney games and used to that kind of stuff. The game gets a bit harder as you go on but not too difficult, it's kind of relaxing and enjoyabel to play. I liek the world, artstyle, and the main characters, even a lot of the characters you are up against are pretty fun. It does change up some of the rules of the task a after a while, the thirst three days or so will be similar but a but more difficult, and then you start getting scenarios where you are no longer dealing with people in the same conventional sense or method. The soundtrack is good and the voices are clear and well done in the game. The art style is good in how they blend old and new tech but seamlessly fits with the world and nothing really seems out of place even though the various objects wouldn't have existed near each other in real life. I'm, unsure what the deal is regarding performance meentioned here but I have played the game for 16 hours at 4K and experienced zero crashes or performance issues at all or any issue with game corruption. I wish people who have issues to get it resolved soon but I don't think it's an issue with the game at least from when I played it. I guess what i'm saying is I wouldn't let this put anyone off playing it, if there are issues then it can be refunded,

Little Nightmares II

An excellent game, like the first game

The game styling and atmosphere is perfect much like the first game, the combat takes getting used to for a short while but once you see the enemy mechanics it gets a lot easier, like many games you get the timing right. The graphics are fantastic and I enjoyed exploring all the areas of the game as I did the first game. The music is very nicely made and designed. A lot of personality and shown via the actions and animations of the characters, you have to explore some areas and pay attention to every subtle movement to understand them, with them you can understand personality and emotion of the character. The msuic is very important to this too. There are more chase scenes in this game compared to the first game, I don't mind it but I do prefer the sneaking style of the first game since you feel more cornered. The AI of your companion is very good and I generally found the puzzles fun. I pretty much enjoyed this game a lot, And I can reccomend it. What I will say first of all, is you do die a lot on some parts as others mentioned but people just are not used to the game yet, I have played it two times (15 hours total) and didn't die anywhere near as much the second time (Played it a week later). On the third level running with the flashlight makes you less accurate with it, this is intentional to make you panic and you actually get caught easier, stick to normal movement and you will be far more successful passing areas. If you get confused with the characters and storyline I highly reccomend going on the Bandai Namco web page for this game and reading the characters and you will understand more and piece links together. On old school games this information would have been inside a manual in the box or back of the box but as this is digital download you will need to go on the games page to get this extra information and context. Only thing to be careful of is the page shows all the main enemies so if you don't want this spoiled then avoid.

Little Nightmares

Fantastic game made of quality and care

Little Nightmares is a great game, this game + the DLC I have played twice within a week of each other as I had so much fin the first time and was fun to explore around. Total time of thsi is 16.5 hours (Main game taking 4.5 hours, and the DLC just over 4 hours), many prople probably wouldn't play the game as slowly as this but I felt a need to explorer everywhere and spend more time amongst the atmosphere and design of the game even if there is a chance nothing in some areas. If someone wants to just rush through and need every detail explained to build up the story you may not enjoy the game as much and see it as too short. The main game is a short one but I have observed every part of the level, or as much as I could so far, and there are lots of hidden pieces of information that build up the story and situation. A lot of objects can be interacted with and the animations are very smooth and had no issues. The soundtrack is very nicely done and the general atmosphere of the game has had a lot of care and attention added to it, fromt he sound effects and how you interact with object it's all got subtle hints of quality, a minor one is water bouncing off your raincoat, while a small thing has more immersion when moving around. Art style is unique and consistent and one of my favourite aspects and mtches with the atmosphere part along. I don;t really get scared by games much, including this one, but what I will say is every monster encounter does give me a very tense feeling, and sometimes rushing in a panic will actually get you caught easier. The enemy designs are very good, especially what you see the first and second main enemy. So overall it's a unique experience I enjoyed twice and I could probably play a third time happily, but I won't as I don't want to end up memorising everythign too much and ruining it. I will say I died as many time the second time as I did the first time but on different parts so it was still good.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Fantastic game

This game is very good and reminiscent of Symphony of The Night. I was born on the same year as SoTN, but i've played that game along with almost all the Castlevanias before that from the first game, and i've played the ones aferwarwards up until OoE, including AoS, and CoTM. i'm an original backer of this game, and i'm glad I did, this will be my only backing, and that's because I trust the people working on it, including composers etc. First off, the level design and music is fantastic, the music was already expected to be good since Michiru Yamane was involved. This game seems to capture all the good parts of the castlevania games and merged them in to one. The animations (All objects and characters/enemies) are very similar in style of SoTN, there are lots of subtle actions and parts in the animation that show attention to detail, from slight movement in fingers, or weapons not following a simple repetitive animation path or loop. The voices of the enemies when you hit them or kill them remind me of SoTN too, they fade away and a death sound along with them, and the deaths also have an small animation and don't just fade away statically, another sign of quality. The backgrounds of the levels look stunning and incredibly detailed too. Theres a good variety of enemies with different attacks, so it's not boring and repetitative throughout the game. You have a multidirectional attack system, along with a shard system, which I guess is similar to OoE, you can summon creatures, have a companion, and have ranged magic. There's also a wide range of weapons, from swords, maces, spears to guns, and these have different types of damage associated with them, such as piercing, bludgeoning, and slashing, which tells you the type of damage and hwo the weapon moves, also can do different damage to certain enemies. All weapons and shard magic can be upgraded in the game, which requiered items you find, and you can also cook food that can ebeused for increasing health.
