X-Com: UFO Defense

Oh, the hundreds of hours spent on this one... And if you find it too hard/slow to obtain some precious weapons/ammo, I guess that the good old bug is still around: The game actually runs separately the world/GUI and the actual battle. And the battle process communicates with the main process by means of updating a file on the disk when the battle is over. So, if you have a battle in which you looted a lot of ammo and/or alien weapons, you can replicate the results by launching any other battle and terminating the battle process with Ctrl-C. It will not overwrite the previous battle results, so the main process will gladly use them again :)

Sound doesn't work. The setup program seems to crash out. If it's working it's still not setting the sound. Since listening to the alien's movement during their turn is a big part of the game, the missing sound is an big issue.

A great classic. If You are a fan of squad-based tactical games, You just need to play this. However, i do NOT recommend to buy it here (sorry, GOG). Instead - go for Open Xcom. It's better incarnation of this great game, and it is free... and more - there are a lot of mods for it (and you can also easily create Your own mod if you want). BTW- i highly reccomend to play without saving during tactical missions :) This changes a lot.

TU TOO SHORT. FUNDING NATIONS TOO LITTLE $$$. WITHDRAWAL OF SUPPORT TOO QUICKLY, XCOM MUST BE GIVEN TIME TO RECONCILE WHATEVER IS CONSIDERED POOR PERFORMANCE

This is listed as and installs with the "Ufo Defense" icon, but that is NOT what this is. It is actually "Enemy Unknown". "UD" is the buggy CD version which I still own, and "EU" is the original extremely buggy FLOPPY DISK VERSION. I purchased this hoping I wouldn't have to go through the drive mounting and and other tedious steps to get my cd version working in dosbox, and needless to say, I was disappointed. Not a good move GOG. If you were selling this version, you should have said so.
