A great update for a classic title
Probably one of my favorite RPG's ever made and the update makes it run a lot better, albeit it's bery hard to break the jank from the original. I highly recommend this with the game in order to get a hell of a title that has more depth and enjoyable than any modern RPG releases.

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines
Honestly, this is one of my top 3 favourite games of all time! Although it shows it's age, this game is a great example of an RPG that blends exploration, combat and story in such a way that makes you curious to try out other play styles. Whether you want to play as a corpo businessman, a rambunctious revolutionary, a supernatural warlock or even just plain crazy, bloodlines 1 GIVES you that freedom to really immerse yourself in that role, whilst navigating the trecherous underworld of darkness. Can't recommend this game enough!

Certified classic, last third is a slog
It's a classic for a reason. If we're going by what I remember it's the first third, because i don't think i made it past that when i played it on release. Being a vampire, aquiring powers and building relationships -- great ideosyncratic dialogue... all that feels really well developed for a game this age. But the combat is pretty rough, guns and melee both are kinda crud and have poor hit detection. As the game starts to wrap it leans on combat heavily and it's the worse for it. I just put it on god mode and hustled through the last bits... to the hit the ending. It's great for it's era. It's of it's era, wish the new one managed to be anywhere near as ambitious as this.
