SWAT 4: Gold Edition

SWAT 4 is one of the greatest and most finely crafted tactical shooters of all time. The sheer amount of ways to complete missions is just astounding. You can be a death squad, shooting anything that so much holds a gun, or a pacifist, and pepperspay anything that crosses your way and shoot them with beanbags for good measure. The entire game is incredibly memorable from start to finish, and has some really awesome missions that will just make you want to replay it over and over.

Honestly, most reviews here have explained the strong points of this game to a great extent. I'm just adding this: with the Special Elite Forces mod installed, this game is a pure 5/5. You should install it if you are looking for the best experience!

SWAT 4 is very unique game. It's not about shooting and killing, it's about planing, thinking and looking for the best solution in stressful situation. I recommend to play with the First Responders mod. The game is more realistic and difficult of course, but we have many cool new features and gameplay is much more deep. Even now (2022) SWAT 4 with First Responders mod is still the best tactical action game. Truly recommend!

This is what a real tactical shooter game is. Rainbow 6 and all of the newer titles only cater to the people that like action and want action now; no thinking, no planning, just run in and shoot like a maniac. That aside, I spent well over 400 hours playing this game during its golden days. I'm very happy to see this game back. I just wish they would do a sequel loyal to the type of game play this game offered. One can only wish. On another note, does this game being here on sale mean that there will be better support for online multiplayer? Once gamespy closed the servers I kind of stopped playing the game.

One of without a doubt my all time favourite games. Can be a bit clunky and frustrating at times but i have always come back to it and overall i have probably sunk hundreds of hours into this game. More than worth its price and its on sale often for an absolute steal. Definitely worth grabbing the SEF mod as it add lots of features cut from the base game, fixes bugs, makes the game play nice with modern hardware and merges the base game and expansion.
