Очень рад тому что игра вернулась на наши экраны,ждал оооочень долго пока это случится.Сразу же скачал небольшой фикс на FOV и прикрутил ReShade - картинка стала более сочная. Ну,а по самой игре скажу так,ставьте лёгкий уровень сложности и наслаждайтесь разрушениями,ибо игра в плане сложности очень калечная....и если в начале и в середине враги будут умирать быстро,то к концу это превратится в неприятную рутину,когда в мест опары выстрелов на одного моба будет уходить по 10-20 выстрелов,это ломает всю механику и прелесть боя.Так что играйте на лёгком и наслаждайтесь.Одна из немногих игр куда приятно накрутить трейнер и сделать бесконечное замедление времени и просто любоваться тем что происходит)

In 1992, John Woo delivered his Magnum Opus, Hard Boiled which was met with luke-warm reception in Hong Kong. When it hit the American market, the response (pun intended) was explosive. John Woo did what nobody thought could be done, he dethroned Die Hard. From its fast paced action to its beyond over the top shootings, Hard Boiled went on to become a legacy and a staple for the Action genre and to this day still sits high as King. Mr. Woo has been credited with the effect known as "Bullet-Time" A time crawl sequence where characters are able to focus thier shots and you can see bullet travel. This is the most well known in films such as "The Matrix" and other games such as "Max Payne." You can also use this ability in game with an unlock that you gain at the start of the game. It allows you to focus your shots, and depending on where you shoot, you will see a greusome animation that is in sync with your shots. Throat shots play a nice struggle and gurggling noise for example. Stranglehold is Hard Boiled's sequel, but it is not without its flaws. For example, the length of the game is the main weakness it holds. Only seven levels with a completion time of four hours, you may not feel like you got your money's worth if you bought this at its original release back in 2007. Now released after over a decade in the abyss at a shiny new price of $9.99, you have nothing to loose. Other flaws include lack of options. There are none. No, I'm serious the only option you have is screen ressolution and dynamic shadows, no graphical detail control. Flaws in gameplay are minor but can be a bit annoying. While it has its flaws and down falls, Stranglehold has a unique blood pooling system that I have not seen since. Instead of a blood pool spreading on fallen enimes, the blood trickles and travels. It is quite morbidly facinating to watch. If you love fast paced action, this is your bag.

If you're a fan of Max Payne, this one's a no brainer. Make sure to get the FOV fix from PCGamingWiki, unless you want to vomit from such a low, unchangeable FOV. Seriously GoG, you need to start including shit like this as optional downloads under the main installer files.

It took me until the second level before I realized that Stranglehold has no reload mechanic. I was completely caught up in the constant barrage of action that I hadn’t noticed. The environment being ripped apart from bullets in every direction, while you’re flinging yourself through the air in slo-mo is something really special. Anyone who enjoys third-person shooters needs to check this out.

If,like me, you're an avid fan of HK action cinema (specifically during it's golden era, 1966 - 1994) then you will certainly hold Mr Woo in extremely high regard. Hand of Death, Last Hurrah for Chivalry, Heroes Shed No Tears, A Better Tomorrow 1 & 2, Just Heroes, The Killer, Bullet In The Head and of course, Hard Boiled are films I've enjoyed immensely. I'd particularly recommend the first two flicks as they're pretty obscure albeit they're not the gun-fu epics with which John will forever be associated. So here we have Stranglehold, a so called "sequel" to Hard Boiled. This is a sequel in the true HK tradition, one which is only very loosely connected to the bullet filled classic - namely in the shape of central protagonist Tequila - played by the truly great, Chow Yun Fat. What makes John Woo films so remarkable is his superb balancing of melodrama, character development and intense, beautifully choreographed, shot and edited action sequences. Well, Stranglehold is definitely a mixed bag - the plot is hardly worth mentioning, the characters bland in the extreme save for the presence of the aforementioned Chow Ynn Fat. Chow is unfortunately encumbered by dull, predictable PG-13 rated dialogue, not to mention the fact that the game's dialogue is in English - excluding some Cantonese cries in the background. The game's saving grace is it's action and it is this aspect which will see you through to the end. Repetitive in the extreme, it is the frenetically paced destruction which truly delights. Having influenced Remedy's bullet filled neo-noir Max Payne, it's here we come full circle - bullet time has come home, in the form of Tequila Time. Mechnically the game does not innovate, structurally the game does not impress but your enjoyment greatly exceeds the sum of the title's constituent parts. All in all Stranglehold is a solid weekend's entertainment.
