SimCity™ 2000 Special Edition

This is a really amazing game. Build your city from the ground up, playing at turtle, llama, cheetah, or even African swallow speeds, instead of only turtle and llama (or not at all). Wow! With the powerful feature of offline gaming, SimCity 2000 is one of the best city building sims available for the PC, not to mention it's a tenth of the price of some other games! You can't go wrong!

Disappointed by the fact that it's the MS-DOS version. The Windows version was superior to this...

This is a excellent game but gog unfortunately has only the DOS version available when there's a Windows port that runs just fine and gives you much more room to work with instead of the tiny area that the DOS version has

As others have mentioned (and I missed before buying), this is the DOSbox version. On a modern large display, not having a widescreen option limits the game play.

There have been Sim City games since this, but none have come near it for pure unadulterated focus, simplicity and gameplay. By far and away the best SC game released, and certainly the last one before EA and the Sims games influenced Maxis. Graphics may not look like much, but they're perfect for the job IMO, retro and cool looking, which is a hard combination to find! Get this game! This is the first one that has mustered me to do a review on there, as it's one of my favourite games of all time!
