Too grindy for my taste
Yeah. Someone told me that I should definitely play SC if I want to try a JRPG. I am never playing another JRPG again. The story is good, and the simple turn based tactics too, but the slow combat and fight repetitions just ruin it for me. Later on people would tell me "yeah, jrpgs are like that". Just not my cup of tea.

Though not flawless, this is one of the best story telling experiences i've seen in gaming.The mix of RPG elements with Adventure mechanics and the rich colourful world you get to explore makes replaying this game a very pleasant trip down memory lane. it is very unfortunate nobody made a sequel. Faults would be combat map encounters tend to be tiresome after awhile, some puzzles are not very intuitive and may discourage players. However for these 2 faults (and trust me they're not small faults) this game executes everything else perfectly. If you want a rich story with interesting characters, start playing this game.

Artificial playtime
This game is good looking and seems interesting, but I just can't get past the tedious battle system (where you're just waiting around for 78% of time) and the way you just have to go back and forth in "dungeons" where your foes keep re-popping... The world setting could have been a great start to a good story and very different environments, but it just seems dull. Too bad it's not what I expected from a good RPG...

Doesn't Work On Windows 8
I hate for this to be my first review and comment on this site, but when my Windows 7 Machine finally decided to give out on me and I bought a new one, it had Windows 8 and does not wish to run on it. If I run it normally, the screen flickers and two more versions appear inside of it in inverted colors. If I attempt to mess with the compatibility settings and try to run it in a reduced color mode the game just crashes before it even starts siting that the games engine stopped working. I went through the windows trouble shooting and still nothing works. If you have to Upgrade to Windows 8 for whatever reason and have this on an older machine then I suggest you beat the game on it first, because its not going to work once the jump is made.
