Heroes of Might and Magic® 2: Gold

Ill be honest, I barely played this. Less than 15 minutes. However, I can tell right away that its a decent improvement over the first game and more closely resembles the series as we know it, but still significantly behind the third one in the technical aspect. Its still cumbersome to control for a game of its type and thats pretty unancceptable since controlling and managing will take up most of your time. Also considering the amount of alternatives available. Graphics and sound are fine for its age, but thats about it. Some mention poor balancing towards the rougher side and cheating AI. The only thing it can possibly offer is the story, since in all other aspects its inferior to its successors, especially Heroes 3. But at this point its easier to just read up on it. As far as I know its not bad, but definitely not worth the trouble. If youre new to the series, just start with HoMM3. If youre a veteran you can confidently skip this, youre not missing out.

It was a super-awesome game at its day, but I see no reason to play it after HoMM3 came out. Just for the sake of nostalgia and maybe the soundtrack. But then, HoMM3 soundtrack is by no means worse :)

Я не играл во вторых Героев, до их покупки в GOG. А теперь скажу, что они мне понравились, хоть я и играл только в сценарии и не проходил компании. Поэтому, за сюжет ничего не могу сказать. Плюсы игры: + Шикарная музыка. + Симпатичный визуал. + Та же интересная пошаговая боевка, что будет улучшена в продолжении. Минусы: - Не всех существ города, можно взять в армию, а нужно кем то жертвовать. - Страшненькие анимации. Не уверен, что это честно добавлять в минусы, смотря на год выхода игры, но анимации и правда плохо выглядят. Было интересно и приятно познакомится с предшественницей, любимой мною третьей части легендарных Героев.

Do you prefer HOMM2? That's cool. IT'S A GREAT GAME. Much better than the original. It's just that HOMM3 improves on every single element that makes 2 great. YMMV but although I've repurchased it, I rarely play it. 3 gets replayed regularly. I even enjoy the iPad remaster.
