Gothic

Give it a try, totally worth it

Gothic is a game that manages to overcome all of it's shortcomings with its atmospheric world. The prison colony and it's inhabitants are a joy to explore and interact with. The gameplay and mechanics may feel minimalistic at times, but this just serves to make the game more immersive as very little will remind you that you're just playing a game.

Game just doesn't work. You'll start it up once and play just fine, but once you close it you'll never be able to open the game again unless you completely erase your save data. Even then, it might not even start and either crash instantly or freeze your whole computer, whatever the program feels like doing at the time. I'm done wasting time searching for solutions, spent too much of it already. I really wanted to play the game since my first time starting it up was actually quite enjoyable but damn man, it's just not worth the hassle of simply playing it. I can live without experiencing Gothic.

No explanation needed. Gothic is loved by a generation of gamers for a reason. PS: Be aware of the ladder-boss ;)

Do not bother with negative reviews, they just do not like old games in general. Gothic has it's charm and issues (aren't all games like that nowadays?), it has incredible music, amazing story, multi-class/multi-guilds (camps), weapon making, unique type of magic system (scrolls and runes) and much much more and keep in mind it is a game from 2001! Graphics are old, combat system is weird and clunky but millions of players loved it for immersive world, dialogues and main character. If you are still unsure if you should buy this game just wait for sale.
