Добро пожаловать в Fort Solis
Ответив на необычный экстренный вызов с удалённой шахтёрской базы, Джек прибывает в мрачный и безлюдный Fort Solis. Изолированная шахтёрская база
Fort Solis угрюмо возвышается над ландшафтом и на многие уровни уходит под землю. Игроки могут исследовать истерзанную бурями поверхность, мрачные служебные тоннели без освещения и разные отсеки базы, обеспечивающие ее повседневные функции, в том числе, инженерный, медицинский и коммуникационный.

The story is very well told with fenomenal voice acting and pacing mixed with hidden records, details here and there, Emails and videos to complement the gaps and what at first seems ambigouos it becomes more clear if you put all things together.
Graphics are quite impressive mostly on the characters models and animation work, some negatives would be lack of Ray Tracing although Screen Space Reflections looks decent enough and the hair that even though it's quite detail it doesn't move at all. Now the big negative is, well, forced walking, it's meant to build up tension and it works for the most part but it could had been added a button for faster walking or slow jog depending on the area explored, there is also no gameplay elements, no big puzzles, no shooting, no melee combat, some quick time events that change nothing even if failed aside from just one and this is probably the bigest turn off for most gamers. With that said, I was not disapointed and enjoyed it for what it is and it's price tag but many won't feel the same.
My title is a bit tongue in cheek as I quite enjoyed this title. Essentially you are walking around an empty Base investigating what happened, but its done well. The voice acting is very good, and the banter between the 2 protagonists never crosses over to annoying. Its very linear however and quite short. But if you are looking for something to play for a weekend or an evening, its a good choice.
My completion time for a first run through was 3 hours and 7 minutes. I will probably run through it again to get the notes and videos that I missed.
I never got any of the slowdowns other people are reporting. I turned off Film Grain and Motion Blur, which I find insufferable, so that probably cured any slowdowns. Otherwise it ran perfectly fine on ultra settings.
This is a game that I want to say is awesome, that you should run out and get right now. I received this with my Amazon Prime membership, and it was a game I had Wishlisted because it looked interesting. I'm glad I didn't really pay extra for it.
You know that random show on Netflix or Amazon Prime you come across that looks interesting but nobody is really talking about it, and then one random evening you decide, "Ok. I'll give it a go," after about the 100th time you've scrolled by it. You watch the first hour, you were somewhat entertained, but you never come back to it. That's what this game is.
It's a shame, because the story has a lot of potential. You can tell they were going for sort of a Alien vibe with this one in that how you feel isolated, and that danger is right around the corner. The set pieces are grand. The visuals are stunning. Even the voice acting isn't that bad. The problem? Well ... it's supposed to be a ... well ... a game! And a game it is not!
You'll find yourself clunkily going thru cooridors, trying to perform simple tasks like walking up stairs, and just trying to interact with an object can seem wonky most of the time. It's almost as if the folks making this game were originally making a TV show, but their script got shot down so many times they turned to throwing together a video game to bring their story to life instead. The problem with this is there has to be game mechanics. If you string your game around nothing but cut scenes and quicktime events, you have to do more with your game at that point. There aren't too many success stories in doing this. A game like Heavy Rain comes to mind, but that's the exception, and not the rule.
Fort Solis is a "game" that tries and fails to be a game. I'll probably finish it simply because the story is somewhat interesting, and I feel like maybe the next hour will get better, but after a few hours in ... its not looking good.
- The graphics are good
- The sound is good and the voice acting is pretty good
- The movement is not good. Pressing the "Fast Walk" Button changes little to nothing and you're pretty slow when walking, not to mention there's some "motion lag" (your character stops moving a while after you let go of the button). It's not my hardware as I'm playing with minimum graphics on a 14th gen i7 and an Nvidia RTX 4070
- The QTEs are what really bothered me. You have no time at all to get them right. For a game where you don't get to try again when you miss a QTE or a save point, check point, nothing, this is not fun.
- The story is ok. Not Silent Hill 2, but also not the worst.
