Dungeon Keeper Gold™

Years ago, I got this game at a garage sale. I fell in love instantly. Now, I bought this game so I can use it on Windows 8.1. Obviously, the graphics aren't amazing, but the game itself is great. I've never really seen anything like it before or since. You get to build your own evil lair and kill things. It has a nice balance of building up vs. going on the offensive (limited gold options allow for time while keeping it fairly fast-paced). Sometimes the UI is a little confusing and you don't always know where fights are taking place, only that they are. Also, it can be difficult to keep your imps out of hostile territory as doors can only be placed in corridors and there's no way to build walls or blocks (at least not at the point I'm at currently). Overall, these issues are minor and can be countered in various ways. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone.

A damned good game that serves as a decent introduction to the series. However one thing I disliked is the addition of the assitant which basically does everything for you. Also I'd have liked to have seen a more modern re-release instead of it being on DOSBox, but with that said its still an excellent game and well worth buying. Note: This is the true Dungeon keeper and it should not be confused with the Android version.

The definition of a classic. Addictive strategic game play and dungeon management that is immensely satisfying when all your planning comes together and you defeat the enemy. Bursting with personality and humor. The main campaign is a straight 20 levels that can get considerably challenging. Will last a long time but never feels bloated or unnecessary and for it's current price (5,99 euro) is an absolution steal. The graphics have aged and there were a few minor technical problems (with the mouse and resolution) but otherwise perfectly functional on modern systems. A classic game that still runs today. Some troubles running it in windowed mode but otherwise the games runs well. A good dungeon creation game with a dark twist.

Although dungeon keeper was released with german audio back then, i dont understand why this version hasnt included it. I dont like to play the game without the language i used to know it.
