Diablo + Hellfire

There's a lot of anti-Blizzard sentiment going around of late, mostly directed at Activision Blizzard, their PARENT company, and it shows in some of the reviews here. Is the game dated? Yes. But what GOG has done here is simply bring us the classic game with all it's strengths (and weaknesses) in tact. It plays just as I remember, it looks fantastic om my PC, and it doesn't try to be anything else but what it was in 1996. If you loved this game back then, as I did, you'll love it now. Don't listen to the players who aren't here to offer a constructive review, but to instead gripe about the price and the "money grab" from Activision Blizzard. They made this arrangement, along with GOG, and they both have to see some profit for Deckard's sake! I, for one, think this game is well worth the price of admission!

It really is a great game, but it's a shame it doesn't come with the hellfire expansion. If it had the expansion I'd give it 5 stars, but the replayability is very limited without it.

If the expansion isn't included, I don't feel its worth buying. The same is going to be true if Diablo 2 ever pops up. If it doesn't have the expansion, what's the point at this point? We're all used to the expansions to these games to the extent that they feel like standard issue to most of us. I want my monk class. Thank you for bringing back this game, none the less.

This is the purest Diablo of all, forget internet and the complex crafting system it's all about an addictive gameplay set in a thrilling atmosphere. This is an icon for a generation, with this masterpiece came the genesis of the PC master-race.

As much as I love to play online, this game is kind of a hassle to connect to other people. What I enjoy most is playing alone; sometimes while streaming but this is a game that I grew up with that I spent many hours being alone. I played Diablo on my Ps1 or laptop that was running windows 95, which some of you might had that privilege but what I remember is that everything was being delayed and slow at times. The GoG version offers a different version of the same game that supports 4k monitors and has some video settings that you mess with. I'd never thought I'd see a day that something like Diablo can be improved and it has. I'm writing this review since now that hellfire has come out and the price is still the same, you're getting two different games for the price of one since Hellfire doesn't feature Multiplayer (Bummer, I know) but I have hopes that GoG or whomever has ownership of Hellfire will implement that one day. They're both good games, they both run just fine on a modern day PC. Connecting to people isn't that hard, it's just annoying at times. I'm definitely not saying it's for everyone, if you don't enjoy video games like Diablo; don't play it. But on that off chance that you do, $10 isn't that bad for what you're getting as you will put some time into it if you enjoy the games for what they're worth.
