Take control of one of five playable characters in the Special Edition of Devil May Cry 4, the ultimate version of the smash-hit stylish action game!
Devil May Cry 4 immerses gamers in a gothic supernatural world, where a new protagonist clashes with a familiar hero. As the new leading man, Nero, players will unleash incredible attacks and non-stop combos using a unique new gameplay mechanic, his powerful "Devil Bringer" arm.
On the coast of a distant land lies the castle town of Fortuna. It is here that the group known as the Order of the Sword practices a mysterious religion. They revere the demon warrior Sparda, who as their god fought to protect humans, and are committed to the extermination of all demons. Nero, a young knight from the Order, is tasked with finding Dante, the mysterious assassin who murdered the head of the Order of the Sword. At the same time, more demons begin to appear throughout the city. Nero will soon come to discover the motives behind Dante's appearance and the truth behind the intentions of the Order of the Sword.
Features
THREE New Playable Characters
- Vergil is a strong, yet technical character, so newcomers can play with confidence while seasoned veterans can further sharpen their skills as they master his moves. Great for all skill levels!
- Lady, in her first playable appearance, specializes in long-distance, powerful attacks. Using the Kalina Ann rocket launcher, a grappling wire, and a variety of awesome guns, she can fight with grace and ease.
- Trish utilizes the demonic sword Sparda to perform a wide variety of combos. The Sparda can even home in on and attack enemies autonomously while Trish fights in tandem!
Legendary Dark Knight Mode
Fight a massive number of enemies simultaneously for extra difficulty and maximum satisfaction!
Refined Gameplay
Small adjustments have been made to improve the gameplay tempo, and provide an even better experience for players both new and returning.

It was a true pleasure to return to Capcom's world of jacked up angels, plant dragons, and Dante hamming up every single delicious scene he's in. Truly, it's good to be back. It's better to be back than it ever was.

A Beautiful But Flawed Gem
DMC4 has become notorious nowadays for being less cohesive compared to DMC1, DMC3, and especially DMC5, but that in no way makes it a bad game or not worth playing, especially now that it's DRM free on GOG. As troubled and awkward as his introduction was, I've always liked Nero, and his combat and levels in this game are still among the most fun of any hack and slash game. Dante's levels may not have the same variety, but his gameplay still has great depth that even DMC5 doesn't quite manage. This is also the game that established Vergil's awesome gameplay and allows you to play as Lady and Trish with their own unique movesets. All in all, DMC4 on GOG is a fantastic port of an incredibly fun if flawed game, and one that any self respecting action game fan shouldn't miss out on.

not playable
as soon i run the game it just close it self same problem for steam too you just cant play this game on the newsest hardware, please make this game playable for windows 11!!

What a waste
Dont bother, Crashjes at startup , no setting for compatibility works. What a shame, I used to love playing this game back in the day

Ignorance is not always bliss.
First and foremost - the game works on Windows 10(I can attest to that) and Windows 11(other people's experience). The game itself has an inherent issue with some monitor resolutions, which has nothing to do with a system. When you see people in the reviews complaining about the game and saying that it does not work on the specific system, you're once again reminded of the irresponsibility of an average Joe and that a person should never turn their ignorance into stupidity by talking on matters you take no time to educate yourself on. This behaviour is a plague. So yeah, TL;DR: the game works fine, people uneducated on the matters of this game's issues with certain resolutions rush to make statements about operating systems. Disregard those statements. About the game itself? Not the best, in my opinion, but still a solid Devil May Cry experience, with arguably the best combat in the series, very nice artstyle and animations. A must-have for a fan, or someone getting into the series.
