Blood 2: The Blood Group

Very cool creature design. Pretty good animations. Crappy unimaginative levels, with a couple of mediocre exceptions. Annoying "humorous" quips that repeat far too often. Weapons are either unbalanced or lame. Sound design and music were pretty good. The story is stupid. Characters are one dimensional. It's always winking at the player, thinking it's so ironic. Ugh. What a disappointment of a sequel after the classic first game.

The game looks fine, the music is fine, the gore is nice and it has the potential, unfortunately, it's a mess, I remember the first blood was really punishing, specially starting a new game, but the more you progressed the more badass you felt, that doesn't happen here,the enemies get always the upper hand, tehy know where you are even if you haven't seen them, they shoot fast and with almost perfect accuracy using hit-skin weapons, it's incredibly easy to die even in comparison with the first game. But what really frustrated me was that the game runs too fast, when I first started I chose the caleb campaign ajnd in teh first room i was killed in a second, barely able to move, I tried using the nvidia configuration to force 60fps, i tried changing the autoexec file, even tried dgvoodoo2, but nothing helps except opening the in-game console and typing maxfps 60, the problem is I have to do it every time i start the game, load a save or change to another level, and when you die every 2 minutes (at best) it gets tiresome, really fast. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but I just can't, maybe if they fixed the framerate issues so I could spam quicksave/load to my heart's content

I like old Shooters and have many of them missed in the past. After some research it tooks me hours to get a playable result on Win10 and the resolution of my choice. I played the whole game in combination with dgVoodoo 2 and a 60fps limit. I did not find a working fix for my mousewheel. The Game often got stuck when using quickload. Or the Game runs fine, but without Mouse Movement. Overall, i had fun with Blood II

You have to work a little to make the game run normally but even so, the game itself is extremely awful. Repetitive audio lines from enemies, in the span of 1 second you will hear the same line about 3-4 time from multiple enemies over and over until you kill them. Awful level design, it's a mess! You don't know where you have to go and it feels like some bootleg low experienced fan maps that no one would ever consider playing. Unbalanced game, enemies will never miss and your aim is all over the place. You will find yourself in many situations where you're killed by enemies far away and trying to kill them from that distance would be impossible without a large amount of ammunition and a larger amount of luck.

Я люблю Blood, очень. Но это, конечно, разочарование. Я даже не смог поиграть нормально в игру, из-за того, что она плохо портирована на современное железо. Хотя, что-то я припоминаю, что когда она еще была актуальна, я тоже не смог в нее поиграть, потому что она дико лагала. 30р. Не жалко. Хотя она и этих денег не стоит.
