An ambitious but flawed game

Interesting characters and character design, and an over-arcing story that makes sense in the context of the protagonist. Voice acting is solid, movement and combat are reasonably fluid. Unfortunately, despite having more strong points than weaknesses, due to the constant graphics glitches around the HUD, and the developers decision to have the camera angle change randomly during certain combat and moving/jumping sequences, I couldn't recommend buying this game even at the $2.49 sale price I paid for it.

Don't miss out on this one!

This is an amazing, underrated game. I must have played this one a dozen times over if not more. Great graphics, music, sound, stroyline, combat, sidequests, minigames, the list goes on! If there is one game I would recommend getting it's this one!

Doesn't work well on modern systems

For reference I run a Windows 10, i7-4770K, 16GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB SSD, Nvidia GTX 1080, 144HZ 2560x1440 monitor. While the game might be enjoyable on a gameplay or story level it's just not possible for me to get it in an acceptable state. The graphics flicker all over the place, NPCs will have their body parts come undone, the UI swaps between showing the button to trigger it and some weird placeholder text. This can be fixed by turning off HW Vertex Processing however the FPS will dip down into unbearable levels. I also had to download a widescreen fix for it to use the proper resolution and lock the game to 60FPS (which is not uncommon so I'm not detracting anything for that) I couldn't get passed the first few minutes because of the issues. I'm kind of sad I can't play the game but at least I only wasted $3 on it.

Charming, but ultimately not so good.

Why you might NOT like this game. Note, there is a lot to love about this game, the art design, game world, characters, some gameplay elements like the camera. But I ran out of patience and stopped playing before the 2nd big mission as I just had enough of the annoyances: Camera!!! - I spent crazy amount of time fighting with the silly camera that every now and then is wrestled out of your controll and gets you in trouble. Puzzle levels - the main gameplay is effectively a puzzle where you have to find how to sneak past pointless sequence of rooms and corridors that clearly have no other real-life purpose than to provide you a puzzle. Save points - The game has decent autosave, but due to limited save locations I even had to leave game running for hours while I was busy with other things if I did not want to loose my progress. So your expectations may be lower, but I just felt the game was more hassle than entertainment and couldn't motivate myslf to see the end of it.
