Betrayal at Krondor Pack

I played the shareware version when it came out. It was turn based so I could really think out moves unlike today games. It had great story and fun quests. The combat was complex. The world was huge and no limits where you could explore at the first chapters. Also, there is a great website guide with a bak hacker. I enjoyed this game so much that I went out and bought the book Magician by Raymond Feist and it remains one of my all time favorite books. Playing the game again after having read everything Mr. Feist had written up to that point made me enjoy it even more. While I must admit the character portraits of cast members wearing really bad wigs didn't fit my idea of what the characters looked like it was the idea of traveling in Midkemia that really hit the spot. Ashen-Shugar still ranks as one of my all time favorite fantasy bad asses!

If you can tolerate the graphics, this one has very deep story and interesting game mechanics.

One of the best RPG's out there, excellent story-telling, really a novel in game form. I wish other games today would use this approach to plot and story-telling. countersweet, while you are right and this game is a freeware, getting it to run properly with music and sound is a hard chore. Having everything ready with a click of a button, running as stable as it is, deserves the measly 5 bucks.

I used to love this game, and despite the old-fashioned graphics I'm gonna spend the night replaying this absolute classic. Definately worth it!
