A Solid DMC-like

Bought this a while ago when it was in Early Access on Steam (played through it when the campaign was finished but didn't play it when it was at 1.0). A solid, stylish DMC-like romp that will scratch your action itch. The characters are really fun to play, but it has the issues that most indie DMC-likes tend to have: you feel the budget. It's a tad shy of that tight feeling the standard bearers of the genre have (might be better now, early access and all that) and enemy variety is to be desired. It has a playful story/characters and an eye-catching aesthetic. The character action delivers, playing as the two characters and beating things up is fantastic, but it can stand to have more interesting things to beat up. Support indie action games, fools!

Bombastic Over-the-Top Fun!

This game is over-the-top bombastic fun from start to finish! The story is interesting enough but doesn't get in the way of the purdy EXPLOSIONS! The character art is great. Everyone looks completely unhinged and I love it! Gameplay is mostly going from arena to arena and beating up all the bad guys and moving on. to the next arena. A few of the corridors have some puzzle elements but nothing complicated. Occasionally you'll find a trapped employee that you rescue by talking to them. The star of the show is the variety of ways you can beat down badies. Collecting secret documents will allow to unlock new moves at any of the convientely located Wi-Fi kiosks. There are boss battles where you have to fight a more difficult foe one-on-one. These let you hone your skills and speed is usually key. Expirement with different moves and see what works best. The graphics are good. Lots of explosions and a great sense of speed. Characters in the pre-rendered cut scenes look like plastic action figures which is a little jarring. As mentioned before I love the character portraits. The music really leans in to the over-the-top action hero feel. I highly recommend this game if you just want punch things and see them blow up!

A charming Spy Hack and slash game!

It's fast pace stylish Hack and slash game with a surprising amount moves which flows really well into each other. Both characters are are fun to play with each their own unique fighting style and system. The Story is not that complex, but my the Dialogue and voice acting is really good along with some really fun banter between characters. Their charming and made the whole experience such a fun ride. The game also has some bangers to go with all the sweet destruction. The Visual presentation over all is pretty stylish and unique, though their human 3d renders are pretty jank looking but with the over all presentation I don't really pay attention too much too it. Overall a very Enjoyable experience!

No regional price here on GOG

...While Steam does. I wouldn't be surprised if NIS America's entire catalogue would be at risk of getting removed, since they could think "GOG doesn't sell". And why would they think that? Regional pricing exists due to people in those regions often not being able pay the full price converted from USD, and NIS America threw away the regional pricing for most of their titles on GOG (and they also ignore anyone that asks them about it).
