You play as Jesse Fox who finds himself imprisoned in a covert military base where he was arrested for a crime he didn't commit. Jesse must now escape using his dry wits, quick words, improvised skills, arsenal of warfare, violent explosives, MacGuyvered gadgets, and an elaborate explanation of how it all went down. If that all fails, he'll use his fists.



  • Uncover a clandestine plot as you escape from an enemy base where you were imprisoned for a crime you didn't commit.
  • Modern gameplay mechanics that pay homage to a solid classic.
  • Gain experience and skills by utilizing stealth to take down your enemies.

The frustrating moments happen often enough to hamper the gameplay in many ways, but despite this, UnMetal is still a really solid stealth game with some genuinely funny moments throughout.

Metal gear but with Humour

This game, is similar to the very old Metal gear game (not Metal gear solid, just Metal Gear) but it doesn't take itself seriously at all. The stealth element are here, and all the element of what make metal gear what it is, but have a funny turn of event with all of that. The game is packed with references to other games, and also break the fourth wall. The gameplay is nicely done and is balanced with infiltration and puzzle solving, with some epic boss fight. Some of the interaction will let you choose what to say, and do not be affraid to choose something stupid. And the story ? Well, play the entire game to know exactly what's going on. It's a game worth playing and have some fun on multiple level, whether you enjoy the game, or having a good laugh at the humour.

Funny parody of MGS, but...

I really enjoyed the parody of MGS, but gameplay is nothing to write home about. Unfortunately frequent boss fights are not fun, but just tedious hold up from story progress that requires you to precisely learn attacks of the Bosses and they are much more difficult than they need to be.

A Must-Play for Metal Gear Fans

The Metal Gear Solid series is iconic, but I've always felt that the 2D titles (Metal Gear 1, Metal Gear 2, Ghost Babel) don't get enough love--thankfully this game is both a love letter to the Metal Gear Solid series and a perfect successor to what those 2D Metal Gears did so well. There's a lot of "trial and error" in here which some players might find frustrating, but the stealth gameplay is brilliantly done and the humor keeps you laughing once you get past a particularly challenging bit. The humor in this game isn't top-brow writing wise, yet it's cleverly implemented into the gameplay. The entire story being told in the past-tense as Jesse Fox is explaining how everything went down. At certain points, the game will prompt you to fill in minor story details such as explaining how many guards there were when you entered a room. This leads to some hilarious situations, and it also directly influences your gameplay. I loved these parts, and I'd love to see more games use this system. UnMetal's not exactly punishing on Normal difficulty--if you're seen, you can realistically evade your pusuers and find a hiding spot. But you're given less experience points which balances the whole thing out. I love this mechanic, and once again I'd like to see the idea added to more games. Lastly, every stealth takedown option is balanced: your best bet is to knock an enemy out with your hands which is always my first option, but your gun is just as handy--and necessary at times. Overall, this is a brilliant game that I only had a few minor nitpicks with, nitpicks that I feel don't even matter in the long run. If you love stealth games--especially Metal Gear--buy this game. And love it.

Such a fun experience!

Thank you for another great game! Mike's character arc was great i have to say! Such a grounded and realistic story as well! In all seriousness like Unepic and Ghost 1.0 i enjoyed every hour of it! I especially liked that in the boss fights it took less than 10 seconds to retry so it never got annoying or boring! Loved the writing and the jokes!
