Ben There, Dan That! and its sequel Time Gentlemen, Please! are a couple of rip-roaring point-and-click adventure games. With tongue firmly in cheek, sit back, relax, and put your mind to work solving puzzles, and reading some very funny dialogue. It's like a book, only good!
From an horrific and untimely death in deep, dark Peru, via preposterous-and-suspect alien invasions, to whipping back-and-forth in time to stop Hitler and his army of robot Nazi dinosaur clones, this is one set of adventures you're unlikely to forget.
Funny words that'll actually probably make you laugh out loud!

Dlaczego warto kupować na GOG.COM?

I am not usually into point-&-clicks, but these are nearly, if not the best 2 I have ever played. The sarcasm, insults, innuendo, and humor are all perfect. Puzzles are challenging, but unlike some adventure games, you dont have to use a magnifying glass to see tiny nuances that you MUST find to complete them. And most of the solves are pretty sensible. I recommend this set.
First off, the game is quite good, and it is an excellent homage to LucasArts' adventures, with a Cartoon Network-y graphics style and wry, dry, hilarious British humor. My only complaint; we actually BUY as in PAY MONEY for the game here. When you boot the game up, however, it asks you to donate more money. That's extremely shoddy for a game that is not freeware but is being PURCHASED by people here on GOG. I will definitely make this five stars if they send a patch to change that. GOG takes pride in selling full versions and not shareware or donationware, so this type of thing also is making GOG look bad.
Buy the game, enjoy the game, but just remember-you already paid for it, so ignore the hand the developer is thrusting out at you.
These are two of the finest P&C games I've played since the golden age of lucasarts, and definitely the funniest since.
Absolutely hilarious dialogue and so much of it - using items on items or inventory produces tons of unique and funny comments. The puzzles are great and almost always logical. Hope they make a third!
If this was supposed to be the writers showcasing their talent then this can be called a success and it gets two thumbs up. Very funny, witty, ironic, sarcastic and a nice tribute to the games of the past. But that's were it ends. This shouldn't even be called a game. It's so short and easy. You can beat it between 30 min to an hour. Graphics are terrible. They are not even options for configuration. People talk like dummies opening their mouth without any movement. Even though I like the music it's just a small sample that loops indefinitely depending on the stage. You have to use the right mouse button to cycle through the actions which makes this a chore and a waste of time.
The biggest problem though is that, if you want this game to last longer and see the whole of it. You have to listen to the whole dialogue. You want to know what you have to do for that? LOOK at every item that can be looked in the room, then CHAT with the items, send DAN to interact with the items, try to GRAB the items and finally, COMBINE the items with another item of the menu. Grabbed something new? Prefer to repeat the action with said item. All of that to hear banter between the two guys. You'll get exhausted easily. It was better to make an actual story and let it come naturally as to not overdo it like Monkey Island.
'Ben There, Dan That!' and 'Time Gentlemen, Please!' are two surprising gems from Zombie Cow Studios/Size Five Games. They may not look like much at first, but they are turly great adventure games with funny British humour, logical puzzles, and quirky graphics. Filled with references to classic LucasArts adventure games and science fiction films, 'BT,DT!' and 'TG,P!' are geeky adventure games made by geeks for geeks.
The puzzles in 'BT,DT!' are straightforward and frankly on the easy side. The ones in 'TG,P!', on the other hand, get progressively more challenging, requiring players to think outside of the box. I encountered a few bugs in 'TG,P!' that were game breakers, such as a screen that would not scroll to reveal key interactive elements, characters not moving as supposed to and thus obscuring clickable objects, and stuck dialogue. Given that, save often, but they were not deal breakers for me.
Both games are short gems, but they will provide about 6 solidly good hours of fun together. I highly recommend them to those who enjoy adventure games, especially if they also enjoy old adventure games and science fiction films from the 80s and 90s.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
