Theme Hospital

This game have been my favorit for ever. works on every win surface that I have ever used. Bullfrog made a nice and strong game. thanks to GOG to put it up so I could make this follow me in the rest of my life in digital. Good way to waste time. :D the game is stable and working every time. the annoying thing is thoes customers can´t just stay alive for some reason. ^^´ (remember to read about the disieases, funny as hell, the treatments too) A hint to them who don´t know the game that much. there are a bonus level in the game ;) if you can not get to it, try some cheat codes xD Every game had cheat codes in those days. :D happy gaming!

Ta gra świetnie oddaje nazwę GOG - Good Old Games. Jeden z najlepszych "tycoonów". Mimo że to tytuł mocno retro (w tym roku skończy 25 lat) i powoli zaczyna cierpieć na choroby wieku starczego, to w dalszym ciągu jest to pozycja bardzo grywalna i bardzo wciągająca. Trudno mi nawet policzyć ile razy wracałem do tej gry. Prowadzenie szpitala od A do Z. Z początku może wydać się to trudne, ale początkowe misje umiejętnie wprowadzają kolejne, bardziej skomplikowane elementy gry. Projektujesz i budujesz pomieszczenia. Zarządzasz personelem. Leczysz pacjentów (jakie to odkrywcze). Odkrywasz nowe choroby i ich procedury leczenia. Pilnujesz by nikt w szpitalu nie umarł i każdy otrzymał odpowiednią obsługę. A przede wszystkim zbierasz setki ton wymiocin i śmieci. Ah, no i jeszcze musisz na tym wszystkim zarobić. Zabawna grafika, dobrze wyważone poziom trudności. Z perspektywy czasu, brakuje może wydarzeń losowych, grając kolejny raz odczuwa się liniowość misji.

Classic from childhood. I like very much all kind of management games and this is not an exception. Humoristic ways to cure patients and most imaginable diseases merged with the hardship of trying to manage a hospital with ever growing flood of patients and their needs. And trying to keep the hospital running smoothly and profitable. But as the game progress, starts the repeat. Every new mission must be started from the scratch and every level has ever increasing victory conditions. Starting from the scratch isn't so bad, but the victory conditions just blow out of proportion. Later missions are, after you have made your hospital fully functional, mostly just waiting for the victory conditions to fulfill. It is not fun anymore when you have to just sit and wait to gain enough money before you can advance to the next mission. So the game is really good to the point, where everything is fully built and going smoothly. Good game and a classic. Just needs more variations to the victory conditions.

Theme Hospital is a fun game and I loved to manage. I enjoyed all aspects of the game, from managing, to designing, optimizing, and training. However, I HATE the fact that when a machinery is broken when an earthquake occurred, that space is lost, permanently, forever! I would much rather have the game give you the option to edit the room and remove it. To me, this concept ruins the game. I also dislike the fact that you can't control the flow of patients. I would think hospitals are run like a business, if the reputation of the hospital goes lower, there will be fewer patients. That wasn't the case, forcing me to start over when I made mistakes in the beginning. This game punishes you heavily on a flawed beginning. Overall, it's fun but it could be much better if that earthquake permanent removal is changed.

While I love the premise of Theme Hospital, there are so many glaring issues with the game that I couldn't play beyond a certain point. Rooms will spontaneously stop working, leaving a mass of patients piling up in the queue, maintanance staff often won't repair rooms without prompting, leaving you with broken, useless rooms (with no warnings to let you know that a room is no longer functional) in later levels. If there's an issue with your hospital, the game will frequently let you know that you aren't running things properly and that patients are complaining, but you'll never be informed of why (which is especially frustrating when everything seems to be running smoothly). The game will tell you that you need more radiators (even if you have them in every room), but there's never an indication of where or how many you need. The concept of the game is great; there's plenty to love about the construction options and how great it is when the hospital is running smoothly. But some levels drag on long after the player has 'finished' the hospital, and there's not quite enough variety in the conditions and construction to keep each level unique enough (especially when you begin each level with no completed reasearch). I appreciate this game for its place in the history of sim games and for it's style and quirkiness. But the myriad of issues that plague Theme Hospital make me feel like the history books are the only place it belongs today.
