Opis
Mroczny był uwięziony przez tysiące lat, ale teraz cztery więżące go pieczęcie zostały zagubione. Cztery organizacje o różnych wierzeniach i ideach szukały tych pieczęci. Siostrzeństwu Aes Sedai udało się odzyskać trzy, ale jedna została skradziona, rzekomo przez członków sekty czczącej Mrocznego. Elayna Sedai, strażniczka kronik Białej Wieży, została awansowana na przywódczynię Aes Sedai i musi teraz za wszelką cenę odzyskać utraconą pieczęć.
The Wheel of Time to strzelanka 3D w stylu fantasy oparta na serii powieści Roberta Jordana, „Koło Czasu”. Walka jest dystansowa, ale postać gracza nigdy właściwie nie używa uzbrojenia. Zamiast tego polega na artefaktach zwanych „ter'angreal”. W grze pojawia się 40 rodzajów ter'angreal, których można używać w celach zaczepnych i obronnych np. wystrzeliwać ogniste kule, leczyć lub ukrywać bohatera itp.

Flawed but Fascinating
I grew up on the Unreal games, and in recent years I became a massive fan of the Wheel of Time books. So when I learned about this weird cousin of the original Unreal, I knew I just had to take it for a spin. It's far from the best of its era, but it is still a very interesting experience to play a FPS as an Aes Sedai. Considering how clearly laid out the rules of this setting's magic are, the developers did make a few blaring concessions to better fit it into the genre. Weaves (spells) use Ter'angreal as ammunition for reasons that don't become clear until midway through the game... and even then feel a bit contrived. Seals of the Dark One's prison can only be carried one at a time, presumably in order to justify their use in Capture The Flag. But overall the plot feels like it was written with care and passion, like an imperfect piece of fanfic. Far as the gameplay goes, that too is really neat. The enemies mostly bumrush you, but throughout the story you're given dozens of varied tools to use against them, ranging from projectiles to traps to debuffs and other utilities. The game does you a huge favor in letting you hit F2 to pause and look at a detailed explanation of each one.

Best FPS
I somehow missed the release of this on gog, in my opinion this is the very best FPS ever released. Or at the very least it is the most unique one in the it is the only chess like FPS out there. There if my memory serves over 20 different spells and counter of the game most of which can be countered or used in combination sometimes for unique effect. Ex. You can target an opponent with swap places and before spell hits put him in whirlwind and now you have yourself in whirlwind and can literally fly. What is unclear from GOG release however is whether there is any support for multiplayer as that is 99% of the game, especially citadel, (it is like capture the flag except flag is not in a fixed location and you can move yours to a better protected location). I will probably get this for nostalgia reasons alone but really presence of a multiplayer is a make or break for this game. Given that only other comments date back to 2022 suggests that sadly there is no multiplayer or its dead..

Great old game
Game is very good. Like other people wrote, FPS but with spells. Atmosphere is something that really sticks out. I played on POP_OS/22.04 via Lutris no problems, everything works as should.

What a pleasant surprise!
If you want some real 90s treat which still feels fresh nowadays, you should buy this one! The lore dump is quite heavy we get from the intro and before the first level, but after that it is pure gaming. The mysteriousness of Unreal, the medieval feel of Hexen 2 and Thief... the inspirations are obvious. Instead of weapons we fight with spells - which are called ter'angreals, because we are in acclaimed writer Robert Jordan's world. Spells are not only for killing and weakening enemies, defending ourselves, but also for solving puzzles. Single player offers about 30 of these ter'angreals. Bossfights aren't just pick your strongest spell, you also have to experiment which is the best against that specific opponent, and what warding magic should you use against them. The first half of the game have so many of these puzzles and you are just getting to know these spells, it almost feels like an rpg. I really felt sorry that the 2nd half of the game is more battle-oriented and these puzzles come less and less frequently. I also felt that a bit more variety in the bestiarium would have been helpful, plus maybe one or two more attacking spells. The AI is a bit annoying with the Unreal-like "I'll dodge all of your projectiles" method, but manageable (the game runs on the original Unreal engine). The ending also a bit anticlimactic, but beside these problems this game is really in the 8.5-9/10 zone, and I really don't understand how it didn't get a sequel through all these years. Music kicks ass also, something I would call medieval rock, 40 mins of OST, I wish it was even longer! Oh, and wait for the crazy credits at the end! :)
