Cool Idea, but Stumbles in Excecution
There's a fundemental problem in it's premise: you need to move to dodge bullets, but you can't* type while moving. I think the devs have done the best they can with the control scheme, but it still doesn't work very well. Unless you want to jump positions between your letters and the arrow keys, you need to hold shift to move with wasd, but doing so locks up your left hand and breaks the flow of typing. You scramble out a word, stop, get another few letters in, stop, but are never given enough space to enter that flow state of typing. The whole charade works, but you're also probably going to need to 'get good', and grinding away at such a flawed system wears away the charm. By the end, I just wanted to get it over with, it just stopped being very fun. The game isn't very big on its story as a whole, but I'm still massivly dissapointed in how they handle the setting. The art is technically sound, but the aesthetic is ugly regardless. Its overall grungyness takes precedent over good worldbuilding and well-thought out themes in its presentation. There's very little reason for this game to take place in Rome or take on the Christian themes at all. The Textorcist cooked together fish and chocolate. It's cool that they managed it, but it's not going taste that good no matter how you cook it.
